The short answer: in Berlin, office and event catering usually costs between 10 and 25 € per person for the food. Delivery, set up and VAT come on top. What it ends up being depends on three things: time of day, amount per person and service on site.

Ordering single dishes instead of a package
If you prefer to put it together yourself, plan with these ranges:
- Finger food and bites: 2.55 € to 6.00 € per piece
- Breakfast in a jar, breads, waffles: 3.10 € to 7.00 €
- Soups and starter salads: 5.50 €
- Bowls: 13.00 € to 16.90 €
- Warm mains: 13.90 €
- Desserts and energy balls: 2.30 € to 4.00 €
- Coffee and tea flat rate: 24.90 € per pot for about 10 people
What comes on top of the food price?
Most caterers charge delivery, set up and pick up separately. At AVOCAI there are three levels, each within 8 km:

There is also a minimum order of 400 € net. Regular customers get 10 % off all food from four deliveries a month; delivery, pick up, packaging and buffet equipment are then included.
Two example calculations
Breakfast for 20 people at the office: 20 × 18.90 € = 378 € for the food, plus 40 € service charge. That is 418 € net, around 465 € gross, about 23 € gross per person.
Summer party with finger food for 50 people, as a dinner replacement with 8 pieces instead of 6: 50 × 26 € = 1,300 € for the food, plus 110 € for two hours of service. That is 1,410 € net, around 1,522 € gross, about 30 € gross per person.
How to tell a quote is complete
- Does it say how many pieces or grams per person are planned?
- Are delivery, set up and pick up listed, or do they appear later?
- Is it clear whether prices are net or gross? Food is 7 %, service and drinks are 19 %.
- Is there a minimum order, and from how many people does the package apply?
- Are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free versions included or charged extra?
